Somebody Needs a Cup of Shut the Hell Up

The following is a case of "check yoself before ya wreck yoself." (apologies to Ice Cube...it just fits.) I'm referring to the recent story which you may have heard about the tweet sent out on Ron Paul's Twitter account.Highly decorated Navy SEAL and author Chris Kyle was killed by a fellow veteran at a firing range,where he had been working with and trying to help the man who from reports suffered from PTSD. According to several news sources, Paul tweeted: “Chris Kyle’s death seems to confirm that ‘he who lives by the sword dies by the sword.’ Treating PTSD at a firing range doesn’t make sense.” That asinine statement was beyond the pale and an apology needs to be forthcoming, although we shouldn't hold our collective breath for it. As an American who loves and respects our military, when I read that I almost came apart. (very unladylike language followed. I'm sorry, Jesus.) You see,in "Kelli's World," there are certain people you don't mess with if you don't want me to go Jerry Springer white trash on you. Our military and veterans are on that list near the very top. To say something so brainless and inappropriate at such a tragic time is the lowest of the low. Chris Kyle from all accounts was a giving, wonderful person who was attempting to help a fellow veteran who was struggling, as he had done with numerous others. This was not a case of living by the sword and reaping what you sow. None of us-not me, not Ron Paul, nor Chris-none of us...are guaranteed tomorrow. Stuff happens. Sad, confusing stuff that we don't like and can't always do anything to stop. Therefore, we need to make sure we have our stuff together in this life because you never know if it'll be your last day on the right side of the dirt. But ungrateful pieces of crap like Ron Paul don't want to think about that. Apparently he wants to play the blame game and to him that blame (for his own death?!?!) lies with Chris Kyle. WRONG, Ron Paul. Time for you to shut the hell up. Better yet, retire and just go away, you and your cult followers, the blame America first crowd. I'm very tired and fed up with people who claim to be Americans but vilify the very people who fought for their right to say what they like, even the stupid crap that Ron Paul spews. It just makes me more determined that my son (someday when he can understand)will be told about Chris Kyle, that he was a warrior and a hero, someone worthy of respect and admiration. Mr. Kyle embodied what was best about America-fighting for what's right, never giving up, trying to give back to others and helping those in need. That makes him a hero in my eyes, not someone who (in a nutshell per Ron Paul) got what he deserved due to his occupation. I believe enough Americans out there know the difference, too. RIP Chris Kyle. Fair winds and following seas.
